The legend of Dan Carter is well established, but the New Zealander continues to push his limits.

Double world champion with the All-Blacks and retired since last year, has completed the challenge he set himself: to score 1,598 penalties in 24 hours.

A symbolic figure for the former player of Racing 92 and Perpignan: during his immense career, the opening half scored 1,598 points with his national team, an unequaled record in the world.

For long hours, on the 22-meter line of the lawn of Eden Park in Auckland, the young 40-year-old retired kicked the oval ball to make a success of his "kikathon".

And the challenge was taken up for a good cause!

The performance of Dan Carter, who chained kicks without sleeping for 24 hours, raised more than €400,000 for Unicef, the United Nations Children's Fund, for children in the region Pacific in need.

“When I ended my career, what I missed the most was being able to test my limits.

There, I have a perfect opportunity to see what I still have in my stomach, ”confided the rugby player before starting his adventure.

After training "for seven months", it took 1,637 tries for the legend to pass his 1,598 penalties, or 98% success.

Proof that it has lost none of its effectiveness.
