TSV Isen has big plans and wants to invest properly in its sports grounds.

But the renovation won't be cheap.

Isen

– It has been known for a long time that TSV Isen wants to expand its premises and increase the possible uses.

Now the planned beach volleyball court with two fields is within reach.

As Isen's 3rd mayor Hans Angermaier announced at the annual general meeting of the TSV via zoom conference on Thursday, the grant of around 10,000 euros for the planned system had been approved by the municipality.

At the meeting, further important decisions were made.

The TSV plans to install floodlights on the main square and to optimize the floodlights on the Spitzwiese.

The training ground will also have an artificial turf surface.

Both measures serve to enable the systems to be used much more often and for longer.

But the implementation of the ambitious plan is not cheap.

According to a current calculation, the club estimates 960,000 euros for artificial turf, irrigation, fences and floodlights.

"It's immensely expensive," says the head of the club, "and it can't be done without the support of the community."

TSV Isen: The district classist calculates just under 1,000,000 euros for the project

As early as December last year, the club's leadership presented their ideas to the Isen municipal council and asked for financial support (we reported).

At that time, the council decided to grant a certain subsidy for the acquisition and production costs and also to secure a possible loan from the TSV with a percentage guarantee.

The financial plan of TSV Isen now says that 192,000 euros will come as a subsidy from the Bavarian State Sports Association, 15,000 euros from the district, 100,000 euros from donations and personal contributions and the municipality - subject to the approval of the municipal council - will take over 303,000 euros .

Around 100,000 to 150,000 euros are to be covered with a loan, and the club wants to take 250,000 euros from the account.

The voters of the approximately 100 participants in the zoom conference had to vote on the use of the association's funds and taking out a loan.

However, the vote was preceded by an emotional discussion in which not only the artificial turf was questioned because of possible environmental hazards, but also the accusation that the footballers were preferred.

TSV Isen: Three quarters of those eligible to vote approved the project

Both TSV chairman Lutz Seeger and club vice president Bruno Hattayer, who moderated the meeting, tried to refute the allegations.

On the one hand, modern artificial turf no longer poses a risk of microplastics, on the other hand, the pitch can also be used for other sports and for summer festivals.

Finally, in the online vote, 75 percent of participants supported the course of action proposed by the board, 16 percent opposed it and eight percent abstained.

As Hattayer finally explained, a soil report is still pending.

The application process could be initiated as early as 2022, and implementation could start in mid-2023 – “provided everything works as planned”.
