The French women's team beat Wales 2-1 to claim a seventh qualifying success which propels them almost to the next

The French women's team has one foot and at least eight toes in Australia and New Zealand where the next World Cup will take place in 2023.

By winning 2-1 on April 8 in Wales against the Welsh, the daughters of Corinne Deacon have almost ensured their qualification.

A simple draw next Tuesday against the modest Slovenians will be enough for him to officially score the ticket.

Les Bleues scored twice with Wendie Renard (31st) and Marie-Antoinette Katoto (57th) scoring.

The tough Welsh as in the first leg (2-0) came back to score.

Les Bleues shook at the end of the match but they still secured a seventh victory in as many matches in this qualifying phase.

They therefore have only one point to win from the three remaining matches, a task which they can perform on Tuesday at Le Mans against Slovenia, second in group I.
