Shocking moment in the Bundesliga: In the game between VfL Wolfsburg and Arminia Bielefeld, Bielefeld defender Cedric Brunner and VfL striker Jonas Wind banged their heads after 27 minutes.
After minutes of treatment by the Arminia doctors and paramedics on the pitch, Brunner was carried off the field on a stretcher and had to be substituted.
"Cedric Brunner is conscious and was immediately taken to the hospital," the club said on Twitter.
The Wolfsburg wind was able to continue playing after a short treatment.
“It does something to you when you see a team-mate lose consciousness on the pitch.
Something like this doesn't go unnoticed.
I hope that Celi recovers quickly from the serve,” said captain Manuel Prietl after the final whistle of the game that Bielefeld lost 0:4 (0:2).
No permanent damage at Klos
A week ago, striker Fabian Klos also suffered a serious head injury after a collision.
An operation on the 34-year-old went “without complications”, said the Bundesliga soccer team on Tuesday.
Klos will not suffer any permanent damage.
The striker was injured in a collision with his teammate Alessandro Schöpf in the Bundesliga game against VfB Stuttgart.
"Fabian Klos would like to thank you for all the recovery wishes that have reached him and his family in the last few days," says the Arminia statement.
