FC Bayern Munich may have won 1-0 (0-0) against FC Augsburg, but clearly failed to gain self-confidence for the difficult second leg in the Champions League on Tuesday (9 p.m., Stream: Amazon) against FC Villarreal .

Julian Nagelsmann brought his stars from the start and didn't spare his strength.

Despite this, FCA, who had already won the first leg 2-1, did not allow Rafał Gikiewicz a shot on goal in the first half.

After the break, the FCA goalkeeper was shot warm and intervened with good saves against Robert Lewandowski's header (47th minute) and Joshua Kimmich's long-range shot (63rd).

Gikiewicz then had no chance for the only goal of the day: defender Reece Oxford touched the ball in the penalty area with his outstretched arm, Lewandowski converted the penalty kick (82').

Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Serge Gnabry: The last German U21 players to score in double figures in a Bundesliga season also made it far in the national team.

Mainz striker Jonathan Burkardt is now also joining the team.

The deflected shot that Burkardt used to put FSV ahead in Cologne was also the 21-year-old's tenth goal of the season (14').

Karim Onisiwo increased for the guests after the break (55th).

But it wasn't enough to win - the Cologne team came back and won 3:2 (0:1).

The Cologne comeback was prepared by Anthony Modeste, who had returned to the starting XI of Steffen Baumgart's team after a break due to illness.

Ellyes Skhiri also headed in a header from the Frenchman to score the goal (60').

Substitute Dejan Ljubicic equalized with a sharp shot (78th).

The Cologne pressure phase finally refined Luca Kilian: The loan from Mainz scored after a corner to win against his regular club (82nd).

Before the start of the game in Wolfsburg, the pros from Bielefeld warmed up in shirts with the number nine shirt, a sign of support for striker Fabian Klos, who suffered a serious head injury.

A little later, Arminia had to cope with the next injury: This time it was defender Cédric Brunner, who had to be carried off the field on a stretcher after a collision with Wolfsburg's Jonas Wind (32').

Even beyond the dramatic bad luck with injuries, it was a used afternoon for the Bielefeld team.

After just five minutes, national striker Lukas Nmecha celebrated what he thought was the opening goal, but it didn't count because he was offside.

But Nmecha doubled back and decided the game after two assists from Yannick Gerhardt before the break (11th/38th).

Maximilian Arnold converted a free kick directly in the second half (48'), Max Kruse headed the final point to the 4-0 (2-0) success (53').

While VfL were able to pull away from their rivals in the bottom of the table and six points ahead of Bielefeld, they can probably plan for another season in the Bundesliga, but the air is getting thinner for Arminia: with 26 points, the East Westphalians end the day in 16th place at best. In the final spurt of the season, there are still matches against FC Bayern and RB Leipzig, but direct competitor Hertha BSC also has to go to Bielefeld.

Greuther Fürth's chances of staying up in the league have only been of a mathematical nature for some time now.

The home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach made it clear why this is the case: the Gladbachers, who were not in the best form themselves, effortlessly played the newly promoted team against the wall at the beginning.

After a nice pass from Alassane Pléa, Marcus Thuram scored the lead with a low shot (18th), Pléa himself increased the penalty after a foul on Florian Neuhaus (24th).

Then Gladbach took his foot off the gas pedal, a third goal by Neuhaus (73rd) didn't count because of a previous foul.
