HSV legend criticizes top scorer: "Glatzel is a big problem" – why?

Or rather: To give HSV top scorer Robert Glatzel* a mighty one.

Robert Glatzel has not only been interesting for other clubs since yesterday – because he scores.

The HSV attacker, who does not want to be compared to his predecessor Simon Terodde*, has already hit the mark 16 times in the current season for the team of HSV coach Tim Walter.

The striker, whom HSV lured from Cardiff City to Hamburg before the start of the current season, is something like the famous personified life insurance for HSV, which legendary coach Friedhelm Funkel, like St. Pauli, no longer trusts to rise to the top*.

No one scores for HSV as often as Glatzel.

Correspondingly important for HSV, where there are transfer rumors about Georgi Chakvetadze *.

HSV transfer rumors also surround Robert Glatzel* – precisely because the striker is the one who stands out from the team of HSV coach Tim Walter at HSV due to the number of goals he has scored.

Nevertheless, Robert Glatzel has a difficult time in Hamburg. Months ago, a former storm legend in the second division Robert Glatzel criticized him and accused HSV of having gambled away the signing of the top scorer.

After that, however, Robert Glatzel in the HSV jersey punished his prominent critics and acted on the pitch in the form of goals.

Now the season is coming to an end and HSV is heading towards another non-promotion – despite the fact that Robert Glatzel was the one who scored in many games of the season and ensured that Hamburger SV took anything countable at all.

And yet HSV attacker Robert Glatzel has to count himself again in the final sprint of the 2021/2022 season and put up with allegations.

This time not by a former top scorer in the second division, but by a real HSV legend who was responsible for exactly the opposite in the past: preventing goals.

We are talking about ex-HSV goalkeeper Uli Stein, who shot powerfully against Robert Glatzel in the “Machineseeker Doppelpass 2nd Bundesliga” on Sport1.

"A big problem this season is - despite his 16 goals - Glatzel," explained the ex-HSV goalkeeper in the program on Sport 1.

Uli Stein also provides the reason for his, well: daring, thesis: "If you consider how many chances he needs to score a goal ... The team can't be that bad and with a center forward like Terodde it would be HSV on a promotion place.”

What the former HSV goalkeeper apparently missed with all his criticism: Even with the goals of Simon Terodde*, Hamburger SV missed the leap into the Bundesliga in the previous season.
