Julian Nagelsmann is under a lot of pressure at Bayern Munich.

Still, he finds ways to switch off.

The coach revealed that in an interview.

Munich – April will be exhausting for Julian Nagelsmann and FC Bayern Munich*, the schedule is tight.

Especially after the 1-0 defeat against Villarreal, the pressure on the 34-year-old is high ahead of next Tuesday's second leg.

The Bundesliga is on again on Saturday, with FC Augsburg visiting the Allianz Arena.

So there is a lot going on at the record champions.

FC Bayern: Machine determines burnout risk from head coach Nagelsmann

The pressure in football, a business worth billions, is omnipresent, especially for a coach like Nagelsmann.

After all, he is on the sidelines at a top club (overview of all FC Bayern titles) and bears sporting responsibility.

With so much work you could get psychological problems.

The coach knows that too.

"You always have the urge to have your cell phone in your hand all the time, to deal with transfers," he now explains in an "Amazon Prime" short film with Sebastian Hellmann*.

Nagelsmann has not yet experienced that the burden is too great for him.

Also because he spends his free time in Bavaria in a targeted manner.

It's also part of the process to report to the sports director: "Then you have to consciously tell Brazzo that I'll be out for a day," Nagelsmann continues.

He deals with topics of psychology and mental health, as he further reveals.

The Bayern coach also had his burnout risk tested.

"You do IQ tests, stress resistance tests against a wide variety of visual and auditory stimuli," explains the record champion's coach.

"And then there are test protocols that then spit out a percentage probability that you will eventually get a burnout or not." According to Nagelsmann, the burnout risk of the machine is zero percent - a real stroke of luck.

Julian Nagelsmann: Private conversation with Ralf Rangnick

Nagelsmann is nevertheless aware of the issue.

In 2019 he succeeded Ralf Rangnick as coach of RB Leipzig, Rangnick was then under contract as "Head of Sport and Development Soccer" for RB.

His ten-month break due to burnout was an issue between the two, as Nagelsmann reveals: "I think it's a terrible feeling.

I also spoke to Ralf about it once.”

From Nagelsmann's point of view, the hope remains that the machine will be right - and that the fate of "burnout" will not overtake him.
