From the record of PSG handball victories to the good operation of Boulogne-Levallois in basketball, here is what to remember from the weekend in Île-de France.

The performance: Ivry goes back to Starligue

HANDBALL.

It's a defeat that still gives a smile.

Author of a cannon season with 23 victories in 24 Proligue games, US Ivry faced Massy on Friday with a clear objective: to ensure the rise in Liqui Moly Starligue.

And the contract is fulfilled.

Despite the defeat (30-33), Sébastien Quintallet's men will return to the top flight next season, a year after leaving it.

Indeed, five days before the end of the championship, the Val-de-Marne club is eleven points ahead of Cherbourg and Pontault-Combault, who lost to Dijon (25-24) and can no longer no longer be caught up in the standings.

“We are happy with the work done so far but the season is not over at all.

The idea will be to work as solidly as possible to arrive in the Starligue with maximum confidence, ”announced the pivot of US Ivry, Robin Dourte, on the club's website.

It was not the expected result but you have to know how to savor these moments.

The number: 23

HANDBALL.

And one and two… and twenty-three!

Thanks to its success against Cesson-Rennes (23-30) on Sunday, PSG Handball recorded its 23rd consecutive victory in as many days, and thus achieved the best start to the season in the history of the Liqui Moly Starligue.

The Parisians thus beat their own record (22).

“This new series of invincibility marks the history of PSG and French handball.

Such an achievement illustrates the requirement and the spirit of conquest displayed, on a daily basis, by our staff and our players ”, analyzed Jean-Claude Blanc, the deputy general manager of PSG on the official website of the club.

Les Rouge et Bleu are still leaders of the championship and are in contention to win their eighth title, the seventh in a row.

2⃣3⃣ wins to start a season!

This is a #record in #LMS!

The sentence: “It's been hard… It's a derby.

We still killed the game by our indiscipline, our mistakes "

RUGBY.

Disappointment was in order.

A week after being swept away by the Ciel et Blancs (53-20), the Stadistes once again lost against Racing 92 (22-9) in the Champions Cup on Saturday.

A defeat that does not pass for the opener Joris Segonds: “I do not know if we can speak of qualification, but we will play all the meetings that we have left to the fullest.

It's ch… It's a derby.

We still killed the match by our indiscipline, our mistakes, ”he cursed.

The player: Jordan McRae, still and always him

BASKETBALL.

But how far will he go?

The American player was still very important during the victory of Boulogne-Levallois against Bourg-en-Bresse (73-80), during the 27th day of Betclic Elite, Saturday.

With 23 points and two rebounds, Jordan Mc Rae allowed the Metropolitans to consolidate their first place in the standings ahead of Monaco.

For its part, Paris Basket lost against the Chorale de Roanne (99-92) while Nanterre defeated Fos-sur-Mer (82-101).

The counter-performance: Paris Volleyball can't do it

VOLLEYBALL.

Paris Volley certainly expected something else in the quarter-finals of the play-offs (the best of five matches qualifies).

Sixth at the end of the regular season, the PV faced the Montpellier ogre and its internationals, who are looking for their first league title for 47 years.

And the capital club had a bad weekend as they lost in the first two sets (3-1 on Saturday, then 3-0 on Sunday).

The Parisians will have to have a burst of pride in their den of Charpy, next Thursday for the third act.

A new defeat would eliminate the Parisians from these playoffs.
