While Maccabi Petah Tikva is fighting for survival in the Premier League and preparing for the decisive rounds at the bottom, the team announced today (Tuesday) the dismissal of Nir Klinger from his position as coach.

After being fired from Hapoel Tel Aviv this season, Klinger signed with Maccabi Petah Tikva in an attempt to keep the team in the Premier League, but was unable to get it out of the burning bottom.

One of the main reasons for the farewell to Klinger is the feeling among the club members (led by Avi Luzon) that much more could have been taken out of the existing staff, especially after the massive strengthening in January.

The bringing in of Eddie Mahramitch, Ido Shachar and Yon Nikolasco was supposed to give Petah Tikva an advantage over the bottom teams and this was not reflected in the results.

Klinger himself said: "I am surprised and disappointed by the decision of Avi Luzon and Maccabi Petah Tikva to fire me at such a time."

Although the official announcement said that Omar Golan will guide the team, the professional team will also consist of a pair of assistants, Naor Luzon and Murad Magmadov, who will continue to be dominant in training and games.

"It ended in bad blood? No, it ended in good blood."

Avi Luzon tried to explain the circumstances of the dismissal: "Maccabi Petah Tikva added six senior players to the squad in January, four or five join the squad. We have the best staff from the bottom teams, and the results are very bad. We achieved barely 30 percent success, And the only reason we have a chance to stay is that the other two who are fighting with us are having worse results. That's why we decided our way is separate.

"Omar knows the players and the system best, knows all the people.

I have known Omar since he was 11 years old and played with children, so I trust him one thousand percent.

With his leadership and his quiet he will achieve what was missing, and achieve the simple goal - to stay in the Premier League.

Going down it would be very bad professionally and financially.

I strongly believe in Omar.

Whatever he asks he will receive.

We have a good enough staff to win the last few games. "

What decided?

"The bad results and the atmosphere within the team. When I went into the depths of things and checked with players, it turns out that the players did not broadcast on one wave along with Nir. Hopefully now there will be a good atmosphere and the players will commit suicide on the grass.

" The players 'commit suicide on the field' ... three coaches in one season?

There are no rules.

When the team is not connected to the coach and everyone is pulling in a different direction, it is a recipe for disaster.

There are great players here.

If we had started the season on this roster, we would have spoken in the top playoffs.

I would not believe we would be with 30 percent success with Klinger.

That's how a league goes down. "

On Nir Klinger's claim that he did not receive a letter of dismissal: "They tell you, go. What is this 'dismissal letter' nonsense? I never issued a letter of dismissal. It ended in bad blood? No, it ended in good blood. He also understood that he should have done "Better results. If he had made 50 percent success, we would now promise to stay. There is one test in football, the test of the result, in which we failed."

On the selection of Omer Golan: "Aliniv Barda is also not a coach, and signed on to success. A coach would like to know the players and would make mistakes. Omar knows every player and knows about each and every pluses and minuses. No coach in Israel can come here now and do a better job ".

On the protest: "The calls to me personally do not bother me, but probably bother the players and the team. I would be happy if they (the protesters) would also contribute to the success of the team and stop with that. Then when we stay they will continue with the protest."

Omar Golan: "I always work with coaches, we would always make decisions by hand, and now we need the mobilization of the people who love the club. So I could not say no. My advantage is that I chose all the players and I believe in them. And I believe we will stay. This club is so important "Me, and I know what needs to be done. I'm sure the players will be recruited for me. I talked to some of them, they said we were opening a new page."
