Assigned to Italian justice for alleged fraud during player transfers, the boss of the Piedmontese club risks a year of s

This affair has shaken transalpine football for several months.

Eleven clubs, including five from Serie A, the Italian first division, have been appearing before disciplinary bodies since Tuesday morning in connection with alleged accounting fraud during player transfers.

A year of suspension was requested, this Tuesday, against the president of Juventus Turin Andrea Agnelli, and eleven months against his counterpart of Napoli Aurelio De Laurentiis.

According to the Italian Football Federation, they are accused of having "recognized capital gains and transfer rights for values higher than those authorized".

In addition to Juventus and Napoli, Genoa, Empoli and Sampdoria Genoa are also concerned.

Just like two clubs from Serie B, Parma and Pisa, and two others from Serie C, Pescara and Pro Vercelli.

Novara and Chievo Verona were involved, but both clubs no longer exist.

The teams in question risk a fine and around sixty leaders have been referred on a personal basis and risk sanctions which can therefore go as far as suspension.

The suspension required against Agnelli also concerns a dozen representatives of Juve.

The Turin club is at the forefront in this matter due to the numerous capital gains made on the sale of players in recent seasons.

The amounts of these transfers have been deemed overvalued several times.

Pavel Nedved, Ballon d'or 2003 and vice-president of the club, risks him, 8 months of suspension.

Juventus could also be fined €800,000.

For the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, Napoli could be ordered to pay €392,000.

A trifle compared to the amount of the transfer of the player, landed from Lille in 2020 for around 70 million euros.

Back then, the Italian club reduced the outlay by selling Losc four players for a total of 20 million euros.

A sum considered to be largely overvalued: three of these players have never played in Lille and are now playing in the Italian third division, or in lower divisions.
