After a long period in which Maccabi Petah Tikva failed to get out of the mud it got into at the bottom, the club announced this morning (Tuesday) the end of coach Nir Klinger's career.
"After much thought and much deliberation, Maccabi Petah Tikva decided to say goodbye to coach Nir Klinger.
We thank Nir for his work and wish him success in his future endeavors, "the official statement said.
Klinger, who was also fired from Hapoel Tel Aviv this season, said:
"I am surprised and disappointed by the decision of Avi Luzon and Maccabi Petah Tikva to fire me at such a time, but only after I receive an official letter of dismissal can I respond."
Professional manager Omar Golan will lead the team in the four remaining games in the lower playoffs.
