Les Brûleurs de loups de Grenoble won their eighth French ice hockey championship title by beating the Ducs d'Angers 5-1 (1-1, 1-0, 3-0) in match 5 of the final of the Magnus League, Wednesday in their ice rink.
The Grenoble team won the series 4 to 1 (5-2, 1-3, 5-4 pens, 3-2 pens, 5-1).
In this last round, disputed in front of 4,000 spectators, the Angevins opened the scoring by Maurin Bouvet before the Isérois scored five goals by Nicolas Deschamps who scored twice, Adel Koudri, Sacha Treille and Joël Champagne.
Grenoble had already finished top of the regular season ahead of Angers (2nd) and Rouen (3rd).
The Grenoble club, already titled in 1981, 1982, 1991, 1998, 2007, 2009 and 2019, succeeds the winners in Rouen, eliminated by Angers in the semi-finals (4 wins to 3).
