The Italian financial police have confiscated the alleged luxury villa of former Formula 1 driver Nikita Mazepin - it is said to be worth over 100 million euros.
Moscow – Again fuss about Nikita Mazepin: The Russian was thrown out of Formula 1 just a few weeks ago.
Now a luxury villa belonging to the family has also been confiscated!
As the?
Italian financial police have confiscated Mazepin's alleged property as part of sanctions against Russia.
Father Dmitri is the boss of a fertilizer company and co-owner of a mining company.
The entrepreneur with an estimated fortune of 1.8 billion US dollars is said to have owned a luxury villa in Sardinia together with his son Nikita, according to the Italian financial police "Guardia di Finanza".
Mazepin senior is considered a close confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Father and son Mazepin got on the EU sanctions list because of the Ukraine war.
What is known about Mazepin's swanky mansion?
The villa is located in Porto Cervo on the Italian Costa Smeralda, i.e. in the north-east of Sardinia.
It is said to be worth over 100 million euros and is called Villa "Rocky Ram".
Next to the villa is a huge pool built into rocks.
Officially, the villa was owned by a foreign company.
However, according to the Italian financial police, this company is said to be a shell company of the Mazepins.

Nikita Mazepin's inglorious Formula 1 career
Mazepin's motorsport career is full of scandals.
In 2016, the Russian freaked out during free practice and physically attacked his former colleague in Formula 3 Callum Ilot (November 11, 1998).
Ilott suffered a black eye and injuries to his jaw, cheek and neck.
Mazepin was suspended for one race for this misconduct.
In December 2020, Mazepin posted a video on Instagram of grabbing a woman's breast without being asked.
The racing driver published an apology video, but deleted it a little later.

The 23-year-old Russian was named a Formula 1 driver by the Haas racing team in 2021.
Father Dmitri invested 40 million euros a year in Haas with his company "Uralkali".
Nikita's appointment came as a surprise, however, as he only finished fifth in the Formula 2 championship last season.
Mazepin mostly lagged behind his teammate Mick Schumacher in his only Formula 1 season.
On March 5, Haas announced the separation of Mazepin and Uralkali due to the Ukraine war.
