At the end of one of the biggest games of the season in the Champions League, Real Madrid did lose last night (Tuesday) to Chelsea 3: 2 at the Bernabeu, but rose to the top four of the factory after 4: 5 in the sum of the two games.
A dramatic shot by Karim Benzema in extra time (96th minute) saved the Blancos from a deep pit and a 3-0 home deficit straight to the semi-finals where Carlo Ancelotti's whites will play against Manchester City or against their city rival Atletico Madrid.
Luca Modric, who was selected as the outstanding player and cooked the first goal with great skill, hurried to tweet after the final whistle: "Raising hands is not an option at all."

The Croatian midfielder added in an interview with Spanish media: "We did not give up even though Chelsea thought we were finished. This game is indescribable. Real fans always show me a lot of love and I try to give them back on the pitch. I admit Chelsea is our toughest opponent but we kept going To believe, we fought and kept believing we could get back in the game. "

Nacho added at the end: "Such nights make me shiver. This is Real Madrid, always fight to the end. It's just rooted in our club. It's in our DNA. It was very hard but every time it ended like this in our stadium it makes me shiver "All over the body. It's just unbelievable."

Real, which has reached its tenth semi-final in the last 12 years, has of course won much praise in the local media.
"Gol" reads: "Bury her five stories deep and Real will always be a favorite to win any title."
An incredible night of comebacks from both teams but the men in white were victorious.

The Marca went a step further, complimenting: "Only a team with such character and heritage could have made this wonderful comeback. This is an immortal team. Only Real Madrid can make such a comeback. The Bernabeu almost collapsed a designer, but in the end the players went up by half. Champions League Final".
