FOOTBALL BAYERNLIGA VfB Hallbergmoos is doing very well at the favored SV Kirchanschöring.

Hallbergmoos

– A win would have been possible, but VfB Hallbergmoos has at least made a small step forward in the relegation battle of the Bayern league.

After the 0:0 in the catch-up game with the top team SV Kirchanschöring, the penultimate team reduced the gap to the relegation zone to two points.

Especially in the first half, the Hallbergmoose were the better team against a rather unimaginative host.

Man of the day was Fabi Diranko, who really got going in his first starting XI appearance in a year.

He hit the goal once (21'), but the linesman just waved it offside when it came about, and VfB regretted that there is no basement in the Bayernliga for video checking.

Kirchanschöring had a good goalkeeper and then a lot of luck for Diranko's next goal.

Keeper Egon Weber fended off the first attempt with great difficulty to a corner.

The center forward hit the crossbar with the subsequent header.

Diranko had already seen the ball in there and twitched to celebrate the goal.

After the break, the character of the game changed because the Kirchanschöringer had a lot of ball possession and this inevitably resulted in isolated goal opportunities.

In the best scene, Martin Dinkel prevented a deficit in one-on-one with a strong foot defense (74th), which would not have been deserved over the full game time.

For a team that dreams of relegation to the regional league, that was far too little and often football from the category of unprofitable art.

At VfB, the forces were dwindling, coach Matthias Strohmaier had to replace his entire offensive trio, which resulted in a break in the game.

Diranko lasted a good hour, while Simon Werner was only present on the field after a cramp.

That was a pity

because the spaces for the golden counterattack would have been there.

"We had the chances, but didn't reward ourselves," said coach Matthias Strohmaier later.

He was slightly tormented by the ultimately performance-related draw and consoled himself with the fact that he could at least fill up for less in Austria before returning home.

His insight: The team can gain self-confidence from this point win and take with them the realization that even the best teams in the league can get into serious trouble.

The goalless draw didn't bring much change in the table, the Hallbergmooser are now three points away from the relegation.

With a win on Saturday at Schwaben Augsburg and a parallel defeat of TSV Wasserburg (in Ismaning), you could overtake the next table neighbor.

This was not possible with the previous gap of three points because Wasserburg won the direct comparison.

SV Kirchanschöring - VfB Hallbergmoos 0:0.
