Stephen Kerry is training for the playoffs (from Twitter)

Two years after his last playoff appearance, three years since the three stars played together in a truly important game, Golden State is back on the big stage.

The Warriors will meet in the first round the Nuggets and leading candidate for MVP Nikola Jokic in a series that will kick off on Saturday night, but although commentators doubt their ability to go far and Steve Kerr lowers expectations, the stars look at it differently.

"Fuck everyone, fuck everyone who says I or Clay or Steph can not lead a team alone. You know what? You're right. You won. We really can not. We can not do it without the friendships between us, without the connection between us," says Drymond Green, declaring, "But when we play together, we're really, really good. We're deadly."

Clay Thompson, returning to the playoffs for the first time since his injury streak, claims that despite low expectations from the Warriors, "My goals have not changed even slightly compared to previous times in the playoffs. My goal is to win another championship, that's all. For me, it's close. We know how hard it is to say there. And yes, it is clear that this is a different time, but a great, very great opportunity awaits us. "

For most of the season the Warriors star trio struggled to play together over time, Thompson returned during the season, Green suffered several injuries and so did Kerry, who is expected to return from another injury straight for the first game against Denver.

But the connection between the three is almost automatic, and from past experience they know very well what they are heading towards.

"No one is betting on us, no one believes we will win, we will reach the final. No one, maybe except our families," Kerry understands.

"For me it's okay. I know all we need are a few wins, and from there to move forward. Each playoff has its own life."

Steve Kerr, on the other hand, still feels that the expectations from the group are different.

"Four years ago, when we got to the playoffs we knew that just winning the championship would be considered meeting goals. Today we are a different team, and we have no expectations. I don't get to the playoffs and think too far, but only about the upcoming game against Denver. In some ways, it's more fun. Maybe It's not as fun as coaching one of the biggest teams ever, but it's a new, different challenge. "
