Esther Roth Shakharov, the queen of sports, and a queen in general, is celebrating her 70th birthday today (Saturday), and this morning several dozen of her friends and family gathered at a retro pub in Kfar Saba to celebrate a surprise party for her.
By and large, only one like her can gather on the morning after Seder night such an amount of people who have won a virtuoso singing demonstration of the lady who danced to brides.
Senior members of the Olympic Committee, Uri Afek, Yael Arad, Yigal Carmi, Gili Lustig, Alex Averbuch and commentator Dr. Gilad Weingarten, some of whom were on the committee that selected Esther as the bride of the Israel Prize at the time, came to embrace, as did Tal Brody and his wife. Sadrinski and Shlomit Nir, who was in the room with Esther at the Munich Olympics, came to give a hug.
