Earlier this week Manchester City managed to take the lead twice and maintain first place despite the Mighty Reds forcing a draw, but the game in London starts without Kevin de Bruyne being injured on Wednesday in the Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid, a game in which the English champions found themselves struggling For 103 minutes to keep a clean sheet and ensure its promotion to the last four stages.
The Belgian at least is on the bench, while the injured Kyle Walker in Madrid is missing Pep Guardiola, who made no less than seven changes in the squad and among other things placed Zack Stefan at the goal.
Jack Grilish and Gabriel Jesus are also in the lineup.
As for Liverpool, they too are known to have played in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday and finished 3-3 at home against Benfica, but unlike Manchester City, coach Jurgen Klopp came back with a promising 1: 3 advantage and therefore made seven changes to the squad compared to the -11 that opened at Etihad earlier this week.
He has now returned his stars to the squad, though Ibrahima Kunata has maintained his place in the defensive squad alongside Virgil Van Dyke.
