Camara sees double and wins the Greens
The player trained at ASSE offers a breath of fresh air to his club.
Absent during the debacle against Lorient (6-2) last weekend, for having been laid off after a fight, Mahdi Camara finally started this Saturday afternoon.
And the 23-year-old justified the choice of his coach.
On two corners, Camara came to score a double and allows Saint-Etienne, however led in the score to win 2-1 in the Cauldron.
Bernardoni saves ASSE
Paul Bernardoni had a very solid match after conceding the first goal of the match by Honorat (9th).
Not quick enough on the opener, he was then very well placed on each strike from Brest and was the author of reassuring and decisive aerial outings.
At the very end of the match, the former Angevin released a magnificent save on a header from Herelle (94th).
Caught on the wrong foot, he manages to relax and get the ball out of a headline to keep the result and save ASSE.
The Greens come out of the red zone
This 2-1 victory at home is a real breath of fresh air for the Stéphanois.
A week after their heavy defeat against Lorient (6-2) when Bordeaux had relaunched in the race to maintain with a victory against Metz, the Greens also relaunched.
Wahbi Khazri's teammates are no longer eligible for relegation and come out of the red zone.
They take 17th place in Clermont, while waiting for the Auvergnats match on Sunday against Metz.
FLOPS
Belaili and Del Castillo absent
The two Stade Brestois wingers did not have a great game.
After a decent start, they both disappeared and did not weigh enough on the Saint-Etienne defense, which was far from confident.
Faced with the good performance of Mounié and Honorat, their lack of sharpness is noticeable.
They were both substituted in the 60th minute.
The Bretons are too messy
Faced with a team from Saint-Etienne in full doubt and experiencing a difficult season, the Bretons started their match well with movement and a quick opener.
Unfortunately, after Saint-Etienne equalized, Michel Der Zakarian's men lost the thread and had great difficulty in destabilizing the Saint-Etienne block and obtaining chances.
Stade Brestois had possession of the ball but did not know what to do with it and therefore left Forez with a defeat.
Stade Brestois in great difficulty on a corner
While they had opened the scoring against a team in great difficulty, the Bretons cracked twice to finally lose 2-1 against the Greens.
The two goals conceded by Brest were from a corner and by the same player, Camara.
On each set piece, we felt the Finisterians in great difficulty and Saint-Etienne pressed a lot on it.
The staff of Stade Brestois has also taken back its players for their lack of marking.
