Oliver Kahn wants Robert Lewandowski to stay at Bayern Munich for the long term.
"We want him to stay at Bayern Munich for as long as possible," said the Munich CEO about the star striker Lewandowski in a "one-two" at Sport1.
The German record champion is in exchange with the world footballer.
During the week, FC Bayern surprisingly failed at FC Villarreal in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
After years of continuous success with FC Bayern, Lewandowski is also at a point in his career that the Pole is concerned about, Kahn noted.
The contract of the 33-year-old striker runs in Munich until the summer of 2023. Recently there was speculation about a premature departure from FC Barcelona.
Kahn had ruled out an early change in the summer.
As a possible successor to Lewandowski, Kahn has meanwhile again ruled out a commitment by Dortmund’s exceptional striker Erling Haaland.
The complete Haaland package is, above all financially, “very far from what we imagine,” said Kahn.
The 21-year-old Haaland is primarily associated with a move to Manchester City for coach Pep Guardiola.
The Norway international can leave Dortmund after this season thanks to a €75m release clause.
In addition, high consultant payments are likely to be due.
Nagelsmann has a "very good" relationship with Lewandowski
According to Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, there are no interpersonal problems between him and Lewandowski.
The relationship was "very, very good," Nagelsmann replied on Sunday at Dazn before the Bundesliga game of the record champions at Arminia Bielefeld when asked about rumors about the opposite.
»We are in close, very direct contact.
He's old enough, and so am I, that we could address things head on if that were the case.”
He recently “addressed the rumours” to Lewandowski, whose future at Bayern has been discussed for weeks due to the contract expiring in 2023, Nagelsmann said.
“He immediately denied it.
In an interview in Poland, he once said that he had very little space up front and that it is difficult to score a lot of goals, and that's why he was dissatisfied. "But that has nothing to do with the training or the coach.
He "doesn't have the feeling that he has a problem with me and it's not the other way around," said Nagelsmann.
Confidence at Müller and Neuer
The contracts of Manuel Neuer (36), Serge Gnabry (26) and Thomas Müller (32) will also expire at the end of June 2023.
According to Müller, Kahn is “very, very confident that we will be able to say something about this in the relatively short term”.
The club is "in very, very good contact" with Captain Neuer, reported the Munich CEO.
Gnabry himself is in a "process of reflection".
