Robert Lewandowski's contract with FC Bayern expires in 2023.

The world footballer has not yet extended.

Why?

FCB boss Oliver Kahn knows that.

Munich – The cause of Robert Lewandowski at Bayern is taking on ever-greater forms.

The two-time world footballer's contract expires in 2023 - the Pole has not yet extended his contract.

So either he does it in the coming months or he leaves the record champions in the summer.

That's for sure.

But which way is it going?

So far, it was actually assumed that Lewy would stay on Säbener Straße.

But now statements by Oliver Kahn are causing a stir!

“As of today, Robert has a contract with us for next season.

We are in contact with Robert and want him to stay with FC Bayern for as long as possible," said the CEO in the Sport1 double pass on Easter Sunday.

So far so good.

But then the FCB boss added: "You also have to see the situation of the players.

Players who have been giving top performances at this club for many years are outstanding," says Kahn, describing Lewandowski's thoughts: "Robert became world footballer with us.

Robert is a player who has the potential to score 30.40 goals every year.

Of course, at some point players like this get the idea: I've achieved everything here and won everything.

Then it takes time to convince him to stay here.”

But after two years of Corona and two knockouts in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, can FC Bayern fulfill their sporting and economic wishes?

Kahn does not deny that the financial side also plays a significant role.

“By the way, such talks also involve financial matters.

We all know that we have two very difficult years behind us," the 52-year-old continued: "As a club, you have to think about how you can still manage everything in the current situation.

Because FC Bayern has also suffered from these last two years.”

That doesn't sound like sheer optimism when it comes to extending Lewy's contract!

"We'll decide when FC Bayern will start contract talks," Kahn adds: "We know exactly what we owe to this player.

It's also about having a respectful exchange with the player.

We don't let anyone put us under pressure."

When it comes to the other two old stars, whose contracts expire in 2023, Kahn is more positive: "With Müller, I'm very confident that we can say something in the short term.

We are

also in very good contact with Manuel

(Neuer, editor's note) .

We're definitely not going to let ourselves be pressured into making these pivotal, important decisions.”

Maybe there's something new to announce before FC Bayern's game at Arminia Bielefeld.
