After cup defender VfL Wolfsburg, Turbine Potsdam also reached the women's DFB Cup final on May 28 in Cologne.
However, it was only with great difficulty that the favored women from Potsdam prevailed after extra time on penalties 3:2 (1:1, 0:0) against Bayer Leverkusen in the Ulrich Haberland Stadium.
Turbine captain Sara Agrez converted the decisive penalty.
The two goals in regular time also came from penalties in front of 2,000 spectators.
First, the Serbian Dina Blagojevic converted a penalty kick for the hosts (66th), before Isabel Kerschowski was successful with a hand penalty in the 83rd minute.
Thus, Turbine reached the final for the first time since 2015.
Overall, Potsdam is in the final for the eighth time, three wins between 2004 and 2006 followed four defeats in a row.
Final opponents Wolfsburg won the cup seven times in a row.
Wolfsburg had won 3-1 in the first semi-final on Sunday at permanent rivals FC Bayern Munich.
