The Dorfen Fortress has been conquered: table leader VfB Forstinning has inflicted the first home defeat of the district league season on TSV Dorfen with a clear 4:0 and thus maintained the three point difference to the also victorious pursuer ESV Freilassing.

Forstinning – "That was a strong team effort all round," said VfB department head Thomas Herndl, cheering his team after the game.

TSV Dorfen was only able to stand up to the guest from Forstinning in the first half hour and worked out a few deals on the outside positions by Michael Friemer and Gerhard Thalmaier.

But VfB goalkeeper Marko Susac didn't have to intervene seriously in any scene, and the guests were once again on zero.

For the fourth time in a row, the total of just 16 goals conceded in the entire season naturally means the best value in the league.

VfB had the reins firmly in their hands in Dorfen, and according to Herndl they were also tactically excellently prepared for the opponent of coach Ivica Coric.

In the 37th minute, the game made it 0:1 – Kevin Beckers scored with a header after a corner kick.

There was a bit of confusion on the field and among the fans for a short time after a player from Dorfen fended off the ball with his hand.

But the assistant referee saw the ball clearly behind the goal line.

Shortly before the change of sides, VfB set the course for victory with a tongue-clicking goal.

After a slip-in pass, Bakary Touray duped his opponent Sebastian Haenle on the baseline and moved into the penalty area, where he beat Dorfen goalkeeper Johannes Huge with a flick into the far post (44').

A fine individual performance by Touray, who started for Sven Jajcinovic (holiday).

"The depth of our squad again proves to be a trump card," Herndl praised his unerring striker.

Touray was also responsible for the 0:3 in the 73rd minute.

Even in the final phase, VfB didn't let up thanks to their physical presence.

“Determination and strength in one-on-one fights to the end” – Herndl also saw that in his players.

Shortly before the final whistle, substitute player David Kamm was able to celebrate his first district league goal.

Kamm, who switched from the Oberföhring district league to Forstinning during the winter break, let his opponent run into nothing after a pass into the penalty area with a body decoy and finished precisely to make it 0:4 (89th).

"It was seldom so clear in Dorfen," said Herndl after the game, happy about the first Forstinninger Dreier at TSV.

The focus is now on the next opponent, Buchbach, who VfB will be welcoming at home next Saturday.
