Contract negotiations between Robert Lewandowski and FC Bayern Munich have come to a standstill.

A center forward from VfB Stuttgart is traded as a successor - and is apparently not averse.

Munich/Stuttgart - Is that a record for eternity?

Robert Lewandowski scored 41 goals in the 2020/21 season in the Bundesliga*.

The Polish super striker matched the record set by club icon Gerd Müller from the 1971/72 season, when the Bavarian Swabian scored and headed 40 goals for Bayern Munich.

Is Robert Lewandowski leaving FC Bayern?

Stagnant talks in Munich

There are superlative numbers that fans of the German record champions * and football in this country will not see for a long time?

The fact is: Erling Haaland is about to say goodbye to Borussia Dortmund, and Lewandowski could actually leave Säbener Straße in Munich * after eight years this summer.

On the Easter weekend, FCB CEO Oliver Kahn reported on tricky contract talks between the Munich bosses around Sport Director Hasan Salihamidzic and the exceptional talent.

Being associated with Bayern is a huge honor.

Sasa Kalajdzic (VfB Stuttgart)

The Bavarians must therefore take a two-pronged approach.

That means you make every effort to persuade Lewandowski to stay, but at the same time you have to free up the budget for one or more possible successors.

The longer an agreement in contract poker with the 33-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer of 2023, is delayed, the more difficult it will be to find a replacement.

Sasa Kalajdzic from VfB Stuttgart: successor to Robert Lewandowski at Bayern?

Names are played diligently in this context.

Among them is Sasa Kalajdzic from Bundesliga competitor VfB Stuttgart*.

The 24-year-old Austrian is having a good second half of the season after a protracted shoulder injury, scoring four goals in ten games in the second half and providing two more assists.

That's good, but not outstanding.

This also applies to the Viennese's record in the previous season, when he scored 16 goals.

But: Is that enough for the Lewandowski successor attribute?

Most recently, the specialist magazine

Kicker

center forward Kalajdzic brought into play in Munich.

The 2.00 meter tall attacker now took a position on it - and showed interest in a transfer.

"The fact that I'm associated with Bayern at all is a huge honor and confirmation of my very good performance.

That also makes me extremely proud," quotes the Austrian

Kronen Zeitung

from Stuttgart, who is in the middle of the Bundesliga* relegation battle with VfB.

There hasn't been any concrete contact yet, "because I'm only interested in staying up at the moment," Kalajdzic explained further: "I have a correct relationship with Stuttgart.

We'll see what happens in the summer.”
