Excitement in the basketball world.
Actors - Ben Affleck and Matt Damon - have announced they will be collaborating on a new feature film release from Amazon, Skydance Sports and Mandalay Pictures.
He will focus on Nike's sports marketing manager who has been relentlessly chasing the greatest basketball player of all time - Michael Jordan - in the mid-80s to sign a contract with the fashion giant.
Both actors will take part in writing, producing, and of course playing as well.
Affleck, director of "Argo" will play Nike founder and billionaire Phil Knight.
Damon will star in the role of Sony and Akaro - whose pursuit of Jordan for a partnership with the shoe brand seemed impossible at the time, but will become the most significant relationship between a sportswear brand and a player in the billion-dollar global footwear industry.
The film will follow Wakaro's work and introduce the audience to Jordan's parents, in particular his powerful and dominant mother, as well as former coaches, advisors, friends and associates of Jordan.
The collaboration is the first time Affleck has directed Damon.
The two members will pass on the original Alex Conbury script, which appeared on a respectable 2021 list of the best screenplays not produced in Hollywood.
BREAKING: Matt Damon to play former Nike exec Sonny Vaccarro and Ben Affleck to play Nike co-founder Phil Knight in a movie about Nike's efforts to sign Michael Jordan to a shoe contract in the mid-'80s.
They'll co-write the script and produce together, while Affleck will direct.

Affleck has just appeared in the Hulu - Deep Water viral sensation, and is reported to be appearing in the upcoming DC - The Flash project as Batman. Damon will appear later this year in Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer in Universal Pictures Because both Affleck and Damon are the producers of the biblical film "The Apostle Paul" starring Hugh Jackman.
