Excitement and depression are so close together.

While FC Forstern 2 suffered a bitter defeat in the BOL top game, the first team was happy about their happy ending in the penalty kick thriller in the association cup.

The regional league team won the penalty shoot-out at FC Stern Munich, second in the Bavarian league, 6-5 and made it into the semi-finals.

It was only one minute before the end of regular time that Sandy Obermeier made it 2-2 after a fine pass from Pija Reininger.

But first things first: FC Forstern started the game well and had field advantages, but hosts FC Stern surprisingly took the lead after just ten minutes.

Forstern's side lost possession as they advanced in midfield and the hosts made a quick counterattack that resulted in a corner.

Here, too, the assignment was not perfect.

The ball played on the near post was initially deflected, but then Sterns Zoe Kristöfl got the ball from close range and scored the 1-0 lead.

Forsterns needed a few minutes to digest the shock of being behind and then came back strong.

Before the break, Obermeier put the ball on for Franzi Stimmer, who made it 1-1 (39').

A little later Forstern's lead was in the air, because Reininger had the 2-1 on the foot, but Stern's goalkeeper made a great save and kept the hosts in the game.

Immediately after the restart, the cold shower came for the regional league.

In midfield, a player from the hosts fought for the ball, which she immediately put into free space for Elisabeth Rubner, who scored to take the lead again (47').

Although FC Forsten took over more and more control in the second half, goals didn't want to be scored despite one or the other opportunity.

Time seemed to be running out for FC, but the team didn't give up and eventually forced the 2-2 equaliser, which then resulted in a penalty shoot-out.

Here the regional league was ice cold.

Julia Deissenböck, Julia Ruckdeschel, Luisa Schmidt and Helena Altenweger hit the mark.

That was enough because goalkeeper Tine Kneißl had previously fended off two star penalties.

FCF reserve without a chance in the top game

In the top game of the district league, FSV Höhenrain, who have been playing in impressive form for weeks, won 3-0 goals and equalized the 0-3 defeat in the preliminary round.

Although the FC-Reserve is still the leader of the table with a three-point lead, they have already played one more game,

Forster's second was severely handicapped when no fewer than six regular players were absent due to injury or illness.

However, coach Stefan Baumgartner did not accept this as a reason for the defeat, because "FSV Höhenrain delivered a very strong performance today and deserved to win".

Forstern never got access to the game, especially in the first half, produced many bad passes in midfield, but this was also due to the guest's strong fighting and enthusiastic performance.

The Forstern goalkeeper Lily Koch, who has been in top form for weeks, was sorely missed.

Without them, Forstern's defense lacked the necessary security, especially with the dangerous crosses of the guests, and the disaster took its course.

In the 14th minute, Lisane Röhrdanz gave the visitors the lead and the early goal gave FSV a further boost.

In the 19th minute, Victoria Neuefeind made it 2-0 and after half an hour even made it 3-0.

The game was over, although Forstern's team never gave up and acted better in the second half and gained game shares.

The guest continued to control the game and didn't let anything burn.

But there was no strength for more goals, because the strong first half had also left its mark on FSV.

The final phase of the championship is really exciting, because behind Forstern (28 points) and Höhenrain (25) lurks third-placed TSV Eiselfing (25), as well as SV Saaldorf, who can even score 27 points if they win in the catch-up game.
