Helsinki / Tampere in Finland - The Ice Hockey World Championship 2022 will take place in Finland from May 13, 2022 to May 29, 2022.

The German team is also represented at this tournament.

The German games take place in the preliminary round in group A, in which the national team competes against seven teams:

The next appointment for the German team will be on May 19, 2022 at 3:20 p.m.

This time Italy is the opponent.

On May 22, 2022, the players of the German national team will also play against Kazakhstan at 3:20 p.m.

The group phase ends for Germany on May 24, 2022 at 11:20 a.m.

The final opponent at this stage of the tournament is Switzerland.

German games at the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championships – the quarter-finals

The German games in the group phase at the Ice Hockey World Championship will decide how the team will proceed in the tournament in Finland.

The game format at the World Cup states that all teams within a group must compete against each other.

The four best teams from both groups then move directly into the quarter-finals.

So when the German team has its next appointments, it depends on which place it occupies in group A after the end of the preliminary round.

If the national team finishes first under the supervision of the DEB, it will play against the fourth-best team in Group B on May 26, 2022 at 3:20 p.m.

If, on the other hand, the German team takes 2nd place, it will play against 3rd place from group B at the same time. If it is only enough for third place within the group, the German national team must play the team in 2nd place on May 26th, 2022 at 7:20 p.m compete in Group B.

A fourth place within Group A means a game against the winner from Group B, which also takes place on May 26, 2022 at 7:20 p.m.

Ice Hockey World Cup 2022: These could be the German games in the final rounds

Whether there will still be German games at the 2022 Ice Hockey World Championships in Finland after the group phase depends on the national team's performance to date.

If the team makes it through the preliminary round and can also assert itself in the quarterfinals, it moves into the semifinals.

These two matches will take place on May 28, 2022 at 1:20 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.

In the first game, the winner of the first quarter-final meets the winner of the second game.

The winner of the third quarterfinal plays against the winner of the fourth match.

The teams that emerge victorious from the semi-finals advance to the final.

If the German team does not manage this, it will still be back on the ice in the game for third place. This will take place on May 29th, 2022 at 2:20 p.m.

Everything is at stake on the same evening: The winners of the semi-finals face each other in the all-important final.

If the German team is one of these two teams, it will play the other winning team from the semi-finals at 7:20 p.m.
