Bayern Munich versus Borussia Dortmund – this duel has been the greatest and best that German football has to offer for years.
On Saturday, the two teams will meet again in a game dubbed the »German Clásico« by the Boulevard, based on the duels between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Bayern can then already win their 32nd championship title, it would be the tenth in a row.
Dortmund was runners-up five times, and it was BVB in 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 that finally managed to leave Bayern behind.
It is the longest feud in the men's Bundesliga.
But also of German sport?

Underwater rugby: TSV Malsch vs. TC Bamberg
One of the currently longest title duels is in the swimming pool.
Since 2010, TSV Malsch and TC Bamberg have been dueling in the final for the German underwater rugby championship.
In the last final before the corona pandemic, Malsch won the title in 2019 for the first time since 2006.
Bamberg won nine times in a row.
The women's duel has also been the same for four years in the final: UC Langen and FS Duisburg both won twice.

Handball: THW Kiel vs. SG Flensburg-Handewitt
When it comes to rivalries in German sport, the duel in the German handball league must not be left out: THW Kiel has been overrunning German handball since 1993/1994, and the Schleswig-Holstein team has won 19 times since then.
The big competitor shows that handball in Germany was primarily a North German sport for a long time: SG Flensburg-Handewitt won the title three times – and was runner-up 14 times during this time.
Someone else said that Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen was always second.

Soccer: 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam vs. 1st FFC Frankfurt
Younger football fans should only know the championship duel between the women of FC Bayern and VfL Wolfsburg.
Since 2012/2013, one of the two clubs has been German champions, Wolfsburg six times and Bayern three times.
However, that still falls short of the feud the »1.
Women's Soccer Clubs from Potsdam and Frankfurt delivered: Between the 1998/1999 season and the 2011/2012 season, Frankfurt was champion seven times, Potsdam six times.
During this time, Frankfurt won the Champions League three times and Potsdam twice.

Volleyball: VfB Friedrichshafen vs. Berlin Volleys
In the men's volleyball national league, the duel of the eternal rivals is on.
It is the ninth final in a row between Berlin Volleys and VfB Friedrichshafen.
The latter can make the 14th title perfect in the third game of the best-of-five series next Saturday.
Berlin is at eleven.

Water polo: Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 vs. Waspo 98 Hanover:
The Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 have 37 titles in water polo, the longest successful series went from 1979 to 1992.
But now another team is spreading in the water, Waspo Hannover has won three of the last four championships.
A new rivalry grows.
Spandau hasn't lost a point this season and would like to hit back.

Volleyball: Dresden SC vs. Schwerin SC
There is also an ongoing feud in the women's volleyball league, namely between Dresdner SC and Schweriner SC.
Only the Roten Raben Vilsbiburg managed to break the run of the two most successful teams in Bundesliga history twice between 2006 and 2018 and become champions.
Dresden and Schwerin are still top teams, but with MTV Stuttgart another team has been involved at the top in recent years.

Table tennis: DJK Kolbermoor vs. ttc berlin eastside
There is also a title rivalry in table tennis.
In 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2021, ttc berlin eastside, which actually writes itself in lowercase, faced each other in the finals, and SV DJK Kolbermoor, the title always went to Berlin.
The Berliners have won the championship every year since 2014 with one exception.
Only in 2018 did the capital club fail in the semi-finals against their biggest rival, Kolbermoor (pictured: Yuan Wan) ultimately snagged the title.

Wheelchair basketball: RSV Lahn-Dill vs. RSB Thuringia Bulls
There is a changing of the guard in wheelchair basketball.
RSV Lahn-Dill won the championship there almost without interruption from 2003 to 2017, but has had to admit defeat to RSB Thuringia Bulls for several years now.
The team has won four of the last five titles and even set a world record with 56 consecutive wins.

American Football: New York Lions vs. Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns
The German Bowl is the final of the German Football Championship.
In the past seven finals, the New York Lions and the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns have faced each other five times, four times with the better end for the Braunschweig team, only in 2017 did the Unicorns narrowly defeat the Lions 14:13.
In the past ten years at least one of the two teams has always been in the final.

Baseball: Bonn Capitals vs. Heidenheimer Heideköpfe
Millions are earned in baseball in the USA, in Germany the sport takes place at amateur level.
In the two-pronged Bundesliga, the Bonn Capitals have won the Nordstaffel since 2015 with one exception.
But the Bonn team only won the title in 2018, which is due to the Heidenheimer Heideköpfe: Since 2017, the Capitals and the Heideköpfe have met each other in the final every year.

Floorball: UHC Weißenfels vs. MFBC Grimma
Many may know floorball from school sports, the sticks have a larger blade compared to field or indoor hockey.
The game ball and the goals are also different.
Floorball, also called floorball, is a fringe sport in which the clubs UHC Weißenfels and MFBC Grimma have been fighting for the title since 2008.
Weißenfels won eight times, Grimma four times.

Ice hockey: ESC Planegg vs. ECDC Memmingen
Planegg versus Memmingen - the duel for the championship in the women's ice hockey Bundesliga was mostly a Bavarian one in the 1910s.
Since 2010/2011, the ESC Planegg, a club from the Würmtal near Munich, has won the championship seven times, and the ECDC Memmingen three times.
At least one of the two teams has stood in the past 17 championship finals.
With eight championships, Planegg is the record champion.

Ice hockey: SC Dynamo Berlin vs. SG Dynamo Weißwasser
The longest permanent rivalry existed between 1970 and 1990 in East German ice hockey, so to speak, out of necessity.
In order to save valuable foreign currency for the purchase of equipment that was only manufactured in the West, the championship title in the GDR Oberliga was only decided between SC Dynamo Berlin and SG Dynamo Weißwasser in these two decades.
After 20 years, German unity sealed the end of the smallest league in the world.
