Maguire was sent an anonymous message warning of a bomb in his home and so searches were conducted, which ended without any special findings.
All this took place two days after United were again defeated by Liverpool, this time 4-0 at Anfield who completed a season-wide 9-0 win over Mighty Reds at the expense of arch-rivals.
Maguire refused the media's request to be interviewed, but this morning it was reported that he insists he has no intention of leaving Manchester United, in whose ranks his contract will only expire in three years.
"The safety of his family and immediate environment is a top priority for Harry," his associates were quoted as saying in the Daily Mail. "He will continue to prepare as usual for United's next game against Arsenal."
According to The Sun, Maguire believes the warning sent to him was made by "cowardly fans" and another close associate of the brakeman added:
