The European Judo Cup kicked off today (Saturday) in Dubrovnik, Croatia with a gold medal and two bronze medals for the Israeli delegation.
Lior Rapalov won gold in the weight category up to 60 kg, after defeating Muhammad Rashnonchad, who is currently competing in the refugee team, in the first round, after fleeing the Iranian team and moving to the Netherlands in recent years.
Later, Raphaelov also defeated rivals from Croatia, Great Britain and Azerbaijan, reaching the final against the British David Ferguson, whom he defeated on the iPhone, to rise to the podium in first place.
Guy Guttman finished fifth in the 66kg.
In the women's event, Tamar Malka (up to 48 kg) defeated the Croatian Navina Malic to win a bronze medal.
