VfL Denklingen literally rolled over Hertha Munich, who were threatened with relegation, in a 7-2 win.

VfL striker Simon Ried scored four times but missed a hat trick.

Denklingen – The frustration over the recent less than pleasant appearances shot from the soul of the district football club VfL Denklingen in the home game against FC Hertha Munich.

Coach Markus Ansorge's squad overran the relegation-threatened guests with a 7-2 victory.

"That was one of the best games of the season, I really liked the whole team," said Ansorge.

"We wanted to set an example, we succeeded, the lightness is back." A challenge after the VfL coach had already written off the promotion after the weak phase.

As in many successful games this season, the Denklinger ignited the turbo in the first few minutes against Hertha.

The first shots went wide before goalscorer Simon Ried made it 2-0 with a brace (6th, 8th).

First Dominik Karg served him and a little later Armin Sporer prepared Ried's second stroke.

The goal-getter's third goal came ten minutes later after Karg staged it again.

However, it wasn't enough for probably the fastest hat trick in the district league, since Karg (12th) had marked the 3:0 in between.

Jack of all trades Ried provided the template for this.

With the 4:0 in the back, VfL took their foot off the gas.

That should pay off.

After a long ball, Pascal Blass (29th) brought the guests closer again.

When Tobias Lurz (36th) sunk the rebound into the corner after a corner to make it 2:4, the hosts showed the right reaction.

They went back into attack mode.

Within a few minutes, VfL recorded four top-class opportunities.

The last one before the break was used again by Simon Ried (44th).

The hosts returned from the dressing room in turbo mode.

Hertha was lucky three times that the visor setting at VfL didn't quite fit.

An attack down the left, in which Ried skilfully let the play equipment pass so that Karg, who was behind him, was able to net to make it 6:2, finally filled the half-dozen.

Substitute Moritz Hemkendreis (76th) increased the lead to 7:2.

Shortly before the end, the guests only hit the crossbar, so that the entertaining game ended with nine goals.
