A day after the Israel Judo Association was chosen to host one of the most important industry events in Jerusalem this year - the Masters Competition

, as first published in Israel Today, the first preparations for the big event have already begun. 

The competition, which will open on December 19 at the Arena in the capital, will take place during Hanukkah, when the union intends to bring in young Judean buses from all over the country, go out with ticket deals, and fill the hall with thousands of spectators every evening.

The president of the World Association, Marius Wieser, decided to give Israel the hospitality thanks to the last successful competitions that have taken place here, including the Grand Slam in the last two years, and the event will be a test of tools for the World Cup in Jerusalem in 2025.  

Over the past month, Judo Association chairman Moshe Ponti has held a number of meetings and phone calls with Wieser expressing his confidence, along with the backing of the Jerusalem Municipality and City Director Itzik Larry and Sports Director, Itzik Kornfein who also supported the course.  

The chairman of the Israeli Judo Association, Moshe Ponti, said: "Years of work are bearing fruit today, this is great news and a dream come true, the most prestigious sports tournament hosted by Israeli sports will come to Jerusalem." 

The good impression that the Israeli Judo Association leaves on every tournament we host does its thing, the positive echo after every competition that has taken place in the country brings a step up in the success of the industry.

A few years ago Israel hosted the European Under-23 Championships, from there it advanced to the European Senior Championships, to the Grand Prix, then it was the Grand Slam, and now we get to host the biggest Masters competition.
