The Sdot Yam Sailing Club and the Israel Sailing Association today (Tuesday) signed an agreement with the International Kite Association (IKA) to host the European Championships, at Kate Foil in the spring of 2024.
This is the second significant championship that the Sdot Yam Club will host in the current Olympic campaign, when the 470 Sailing World Championships will be held in Israel this October.
About a month ago, a tour was held in Israel with the model's manager, Marcus Schwandtar, who spent two days in Sdot Yam and was impressed by the facilities and the ability to host an international model Olympic competition.
After the tour, a model management meeting was held, which accepted Sdot Yam's offer to host the championship.
The set date is 9-18 / 5/2024, making it the last and concluding competition in the model before the Olympic Games, to be held in Paris in August 2024. Determining the competition as the last before the Olympic campaign, together with the fact that it is the European Open Championships Global.
The European Championships will be broadcast live all over the world and will ensure wide exposure to Israeli sports.
