ESC Dorfen loses its number one goalkeeper and an important defender.

Dorfen – After the season is before the season.

An unshakeable principle in the timely planning for the new ice hockey year among the puck hunters.

This is also the case with ESC Dorfen.

As already reported, those responsible for the Ice Pirates were able to announce the first contract extensions with some leading players after the last game of the season against Ulm.

Strikers Tomas Vrba, Sandro Schroepfer Lukas Kirsch and Urban Sodja as well as defenders Gaspr Susanj and Benedikt Dietrich will continue to wear the ESC jersey.

In the meantime there have been further commitments: Erik Walter, Florian Fischer, Max Huber, Florian Hartl, goalkeeper Andi Marek and Junior Reik Walter will also be playing in Isenstadt next season.

The Slovenian contingent player Sodja proved to be an outstanding attacker in the relegation round, in which the Isenstadt team confidently secured third place in the table, and was both the top scorer and top scorer with 15 goals in twelve appearances with 35 points.

Behind him were Dominik Synek from Ulm with 27 points (11 goals, 16 assists) and Florian Zimmermann from Erding with 26 points (10/16).

Tomas Vrba took third place among the top scorers with eleven goals.

Viewed over the entire season, Sodja took the lead in the ESC scorer ranking with 61 points (29/32), followed by Vrba with 56 points (22/34) and Lukas Kirsch with 33 points (16/17) and the At the beginning of the league, Slovenian defender Gaspr Susanj was injured for several weeks and still managed to score 30 points (7/23).

Kirsch was voted "Rookie of the Year", the best league newcomer, in the Bavarian league vote.

In his first season, the 21-year-old striker from the Rosenheim offspring immediately appeared as a feared scorer.

After a year of extremely successful involvement with the Ice Pirates, however, goalkeeper Luca Endres and defender Simon Franz will no longer be available as important pillars of defense in the coming season.

Endres wants to concentrate on a career as a goalkeeper coach - according to reports with the juniors of the second division club EV Landshut - Franz has not accepted the contract offer from the ESC and will probably change within the Bayernliga.

For the vacant goalkeeper position, coach Franz Steer and department head Manfred Detterbeck are currently in final negotiations with a goalie who has experience in the DEL and Oberliga.

So the ESC Dorfen could have one of the best goalkeeper teams in the league again in the new season.
