Egyptian Mohamed Salah was crowned the best player in the English Premier League for the second time in his career.
In the annual vote of the Football Writers Association, the Liverpool star and captain of the Egyptian national team received 48 percent of the vote, ahead of Belgian Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City player, and Declan Rice, West Ham United player, who ranked second and third, respectively.
This is the second time that Salah has won this award after the first in 2018, when he grabbed it thanks to scoring 22 goals in addition to providing 13 assists in 31 league games this season.
Salah scored 30 goals and assisted 14 others in 44 games in all competitions this season, while he contributed to Liverpool winning the League Cup, qualifying for the Federation Cup final and occupying second place in the league table, one point behind leaders Manchester City, in addition to putting his team ahead in the Champions League final by winning Spain beat Villa Real 2-0 in the first leg of the semi-finals.
