A new sports weekend, excluding football.

"Le Parisien" invites you to analyze and decipher the results of the main clubs in Île-de-France.

The derby of the weekend: When the Metropolitans style on the wire Nanterre

BASKETBALL.

The Hauts-de-Seine derby has kept all its promises.

Still leaders in the championship, the Metropolitans managed to win against Nanterre after a breathtaking encounter.

However, Boulogne-Levallois thought they had done the hardest part by winning the first three quarters.

But it was without counting on the mental strength of the players of Pascal Donnadieu who snatched the extension by catching up with their ten points behind in the last quarter.

During the extra playing time, the Metropolitans made the difference to win on the wire (104-102).

A success that allows them to forget their elimination in the quarter-finals of the Eurocup on Wednesday in Valencia (98-85).

The popular success of the weekend: Meaux imposes itself in a warm atmosphere

GYMNASTIC.

After two years of abstinence, lovers of gymnastics in general and the Top 12 in particular were back this Saturday in Meaux.

In their Frank-Leboeuf gymnasium, Patrick Andréani's daughters easily won against Colomiers (32-16) on the third day.

Led by Marine Boyer, qualified for the Rio Games in 2016 then in Tokyo in 2021 and Astra Nelo, the very young 12-year-old gymnast, the Seine-et-Marnaises made short work of their opponent of the day.

Thanks to this victory, Meaux wins pool 3 and finds itself qualified for the semi-finals of the Top 12 along with Haguenau, Avoine and Schiltigheim.

The hiccup of the weekend: Pontault cracks in Cherbourg

HANDBALL.

It was the shock of the day in Proligue.

Second ex-aequo, Cherbourg and Pontault met to secure the place of dolphin of Ivry, already assured of going back to Starligue.

The second place is essential since it ensures a place in the semi-finals of the playoffs and makes it possible to escape an always tricky play-off match.

After a good start to the match, Cherif Hamani's players had come halfway by taking the lead at the break (11-13).

Everything was still going well in the 46th minute (22-23) but a terrible last quarter of an hour ruined the Seine-et-Marnais hopes, finally crushed (32-26).

WHAT A MATCH 🤯💜
