The Olympic team will not fly to the Universiade, which is scheduled to take place in June-July, due to the strict corona guidelines in China, Israel Today has learned.
According to the restrictions and requirements of the Chinese Ministry of Health, all teams will be in a separate and detached bubble from the environment for two weeks and the players will undergo corona tests intensively.
If one of the players is found positive he will go to solitary confinement in a hotel assigned by the Chinese authorities and will be forced to stay there for at least three weeks.
Due to this, the Basketball Association, in consultation with the global ASA that organizes the Universiade Games, decided not to send Ariel Beit Halachmi's team to the tournament this year.
