Robert Lewandowski's contract is the big topic at FC Bayern Munich: What's next?
Transfer expert Marius Soyke does not expect a sale.
Munich – The guesswork about the future of Robert Lewandowski continues.
What will become of the Bayern Munich superstar?
The rumors have been around for weeks, and there are always discussions about an early departure.
In the last week of April, transfer poker slowly started to move: Advisor Pini Zahavi was in the Bavarian capital for negotiations.

Robert Lewandowski: Sale, free transfer or extension at Bayern Munich?
Zahavi is also said to have made representations to FC Barcelona.
The Catalans have been traded as Lewandowski's new employer for quite some time.
So will the Pole, now 33 years old, switch from one FCB to the other in the autumn of his career?
We're not that far yet.
Lewandowski's contract in Munich runs until 2023, so FC Bayern has the reins in hand.
But of course the question of all questions is being discussed diligently on Säbener Straße.
What will become of Lewandowski?
There are currently three options:
Lewandowski sale in summer 2022
Free transfer Lewandowski departure in summer 2023
Lewandowski extension at Bayern Munich
Lewandowski change?
Transfer expert rules out an option - "Is unlikely"
For Marius Soyke, one scenario is already off the table.
The expert from transfermarkt.de said exclusively to
tz.de
and
Merkur.de
: "As things currently stand, I'm assuming either a free transfer in 2023 or an extension of one to two years.
A sale is unlikely.”
An assessment that should please Bayern fans.
But why is a sale in the summer of 2022 actually not an option?
Soyke provides the simple explanation: "FC Barcelona cannot afford the package of transfer fee and salary and there does not seem to have been any special interest from England so far - Man United would not be a fantastic alternative to Bayern for Lewandowski without the Champions League."
Will he stay at Bayern Munich?

What's next for Lewandowski?
Soyke adds: "In terms of the extension, it depends on what the club wants: Lewandowski is still outstanding, but will he still be in two years?
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, while still far better than any other player in their age group apart from the Pole and Karim Benzema, show a drop in performance.
Sooner or later that will probably happen to Lewandowski as well.”
Lewandowski, who scored again in Bayern's 3-1 defeat in Mainz, will be 34 in August.
Of course he can't storm forever.
At some point a new solution will be needed for the German record champions (all FC Bayern titles) - Soyke also knows that: "Bayern must initiate the upheaval in good time." Perhaps one of these nine candidates could be Lewandowski's successor at FC Bayern ?
