Miguel Vitor is approaching the Israeli team.
Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked approved the request of the Football Association and Minister of Culture and Sports Hili Trooper and is expected to grant the Portuguese brakeman Israeli citizenship.
Vitor will first be recognized as a temporary resident and then should be considered a citizen.
This will allow him to be part of the team and of course will turn Hapoel Beer Sheva into a foreigner on the roster.
Vitor, 32, has been in Israel since the summer of 2016 and has been a partner in two Hapoel Beer Sheva championships, as well as winning the state cup and the Toto Cup.
In his first season in Israel, he was also selected as the player of the season of the Premier League.

Hapoel Beer Sheva feared the injury of Andre Martins, who was replaced tonight (Sunday) before the break in Netanya with a feeling of tension in the back thigh muscle.
This is an injury that could disable the Portuguese midfielder for a few weeks and harm his chances of playing in the decisive league games and possibly even in the cup final against Maccabi Haifa in three and a half weeks.
Those who will miss the game against Hapoel Tel Aviv in the league in a week and a half are Helder Lopes, Hatem Abdel Hamid and Iyad Abu Abid.
The three defensive players received their ninth yellow tonight this season and will want the suspension in two more games.
They will be able to take part in the home game against Maccabi Haifa in the next round.
