In the Premier League, three clubs from London are playing for two open Champions League places.
Chelsea continue to have the best starting position - after a surprising 0-1 (0-0) defeat at Everton, who are threatened with relegation, the Blues, who are third in the table, are only five points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth place.
Led by the strong Son Heung-min, who scored twice and submitted one goal, Spurs defeated Leicester City 3-1 (1-0).
In between is Arsenal, who won 2-1 (1-0) at West Ham United and advanced to within three points of Chelsea.
Tottenham were allowed to play against Leicester - and had to, in order to find their form again in time for the end of the season after two games without a win.
This was possible thanks to club icon Son: The former Bundesliga professional has scored 24 to 26 goals in the current season and initially set up the opening goal for Harry Kane with a corner, who scored with a header (22nd).
Son decided the game himself with a shot from the turn (60') and a long-range shot into the corner (79'), Kelechi Iheanacho's consolation goal came too late for Leicester.
At the same time, Chelsea had to deal with opponents that only seemed easy: Everton may be third from bottom in the table, but Thomas Tuchel's team had a hard time creating real chances to score at Goodison Park.
When Cesar Azpilicueta made a bad mistake and was the last man to take the ball 20 meters from his own goal, Everton took the lead – Richarlison scored (47').
Only then did Chelsea become stronger offensively, but national goalkeeper Jordan Pickford secured coach Frank Lampard's numerous strong reflexes against his former club.
Arsenal FC faced Frankfurt Europa League opponents West Ham United.
As against Eintracht, the Hammers lost 1:2 (1:1) at home.
The Gunners West Ham didn't play against the wall, but the central defenders showed themselves to be accurate after corner kicks: First Rob Holding headed the lead (38'), after Jarrod Bowen's equalizer (45'), the moved up Gabriel also headed in (54'). .
