Starting signal.
The 62 competitors in Cap-Martinique, a transatlantic reserved for amateurs, took the start this Sunday in La Trinite-sur-Mer (Morbihan) and are expected in Fort-de-France (Martinique) in about twenty days.
The crossing promises to be rapid, as indicated by Jean-Philippe Cau, co-organizer: “
The gods were with us.
The wind was light but everyone got off to a good start on the direct route to Martinique.
The wind will quickly pick up today and they will pick up speed in the next few hours.

Cap-Martinique, or the opportunity for sailors whose job it is not to realize their dream.
“
They manage to reconcile an often dense professional life with their passion.
It requires a lot of sacrifices.
You don't realize it, but it's quite a feat to cross the Atlantic under sail.
For many of them, it's the race of a lifetime
”, notes Thibaut Derville, co-organizer.
