FC Langengeisling is already working on the next season.

Langengeisling – A player-coach duo is nothing new in the district, but FC Langengeisling will try to do it with a playing trio next season.

Head coach Maxi "Muck" Hintermaier has extended with the district league team, as has his co-worker Doug Wilson.

The third man in the coaching team will be Andi Buchberger from the summer.

The 34-year-old is currently still the player-coach of the district league team SV Buch am Erlbach, but he still has fond memories as head of defense in the championship season at the FCL.

"With Andi we're filling a gap that we currently have on the defensive," says Max Maier.

The sporting director emphasized that the commitment was also what the previous coaches wanted after Marco Zehner had to give up his position during the season for professional reasons.

They were happy to fulfill their wish, “because we really want to keep both of them.

They did a great job this season,” said Maier.

FCL chairman Sepp Kaiser also emphasizes this: "Games such as the draw against Reichertsheim show how much the team has developed." This was also evident in the 2-0 win against Saaldorf on Sunday.

Nevertheless, the league in the district league is not yet secured.

Buchberger's commitment is independent of the league, "but of course the district league would also be a special sporting incentive for me," says the Nandlstadt resident.

The contact with the ex-colleagues was never broken anyway.

Hintermaier is "overall very satisfied" with his first year as a coach.

Little things can always be improved.

The 30-year-old ex-regional league player says that the switching game after losing the ball in particular has to go even faster.

But he likes to tackle such construction sites.

And with three trainers now, individual work is even better possible.

A player-coach and two playing Co – who then does the work on the bench?

"But I don't think that all three of us are on the pitch very often," says Wilson.

"That was hardly the case this year with me and Muck." The coaching trio can plan with the same squad as this year.

Except for one or two players, who will step back a little, everyone wants to continue.

There are still no newcomers, says Maier.

"We're currently having some talks, but they're still difficult at the moment because staying up in the league isn't certain."
