The 32-year-old Munich striker joined Bayern Munich at the age of ten. It will remain there at least until the summer of 2024...

It's called having a club in the blood.

Which is all the better when the jersey is red… Thomas Müller, 32, emblematic figure of Bayern Munich, who has just won his tenth consecutive German championship title, has extended his contract until June 2024.

The Munich striker, originally from the Bavarian countryside, arrived at Bayern at the age of ten and has been part of the professional squad since 2008. In a nice nod, the German international also posed on his childhood bed dressed in the club outfit he already wore more than two decades ago in front of a flocked 2024 jersey. The very place where he dreamed as a kid of imitating his idols of the time, whose posters lined the white walls.

A few years later, Müller has two Champions League in his sports bag (2013 and 2020) and he is now the sole record holder of German championship titles, with 11 successes to his credit.

"Thomas Müller is an icon who carries the club crest in his heart," said Bayern boss, former goalkeeper Oliver Kahn.

He is someone who assumes his role as a leader, and he is an important character in the locker room, because of his personality”.

The extensions of the two other historic pillars, captain Manuel Neuer and striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contracts also expire in June 2023 (like that of Serge Gnabry), have still not been announced.

The German press is even speculating that Lewandowski might leave this summer, which the club have so far completely ruled out.
