Wolfgang Janisch from SV Langenbach triumphed in the duathlon first at national level and then at Bavarian level in his age group.

Langenbach

– Wolfgang Janisch from SV Langenbach celebrated two great successes in April: he won both the German and the Bavarian championships in the duathlon sprint in his age group.

Great challenges mastered

The Duathlon Championships of the German Triathlon Union took place in Alsdorf near Aachen.

The competition was embedded in the Powerman Classics major event with the German Championship and European Championship over the middle distance.

Despite the long journey, Wolfgang Janisch did not want to miss a start on the sprint course with five kilometers of running, 20 kilometers of cycling and another five kilometers of running in his new age group M 75.

It was windy and cool, and the bumpy bike course was a big challenge.

But the SVL athlete was up to it: Thanks to the strong partial results (run 1: 26:56 minutes, cycling: 39:03 minutes, run 2: 28:17 minutes) and the total time of 1:40 hours, Janisch was able to win the competition finish first.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Wolfgang Janisch follows up in Hilpoltstein

After winning the DM in the sprint distance, Wolfgang Janisch promptly followed up at the Bavarian championship in Hilpoltstein.

There, eight kilometers of running, 30 kilometers of cycling and finally another three kilometers of running were announced.

On the day of the competition it was cool and rainy.

The running course was characterized by many ups and downs - and the bike course also featured smaller and larger climbs as well as fast descents.

The wind blew alternately from all sides.

These weather conditions and the track conditions took a lot out of Freisinger's condition.

But the effort was worth it for the SV Langenbach athlete: Wolfgang Janisch was able to celebrate the championship title in the M 75 age group after 2:27.25 hours.
