"I am absolutely assuming that Robert Lewandowski will play for FC Bayern next year," said the 70-year-old.

Hoeneß replies why he is so sure: "Because he has a contract, quite simply."

In addition to Lewandowski, the contracts of Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer and Serge Gnabry also expire in 2023.

While there are signs of an extension for the first two, the future of offensive player Gnabry is still in the stars.
