Munich – Matteo Berrettini, born on April 12, 1996 in Rome, can hardly be overlooked in the tennis world for several reasons: in 2019 he was considered “climber of the year” due to several successes (including semifinals at the US Open), and in 2021 he also achieved 1st place .96 meters tall and weighing 95 kilograms, the Italians had numerous successes, including victory at the ATP 250 tournament in Belgrade.

Outstanding so far in the tattoo fan's career: As the first Italian ever, he reached the final in Wimbledon in 2021, where he had to admit defeat to Novak Djokovic.

Matteo Berrettini is or was engaged to the Australian tennis player Ajla Tomljanovic.

There are rumors about a breakup, which have not yet been officially confirmed.

Ajla Tomljanovic has been at Matteo Berrettini's side since 2020.

The couple started dating in October 2019.

During their relationship, they were often spotted spending time at tournaments and training together.

In March 2022, rumors surfaced that Matteo Berrettini and Ajla Tomljanovic might have split.

The curious reason for this: Each of them is said to have deleted the other's pictures from their Instagram accounts, Tomljanovic is said to have even removed all the pictures they showed together with Berrettini.

Until recently, everything seemed to be fine with the two: In the run-up to the Australian Open 2021, all players had to be quarantined.

"The most difficult thing for me is that Ajla lives six floors below me, but we are not allowed to see each other despite negative tests," said Berrettini at the time.

In his early years, Berrettini played almost exclusively on the Challenger Tour.

In 2017 he made his debut on the ATP World Tour.

He received a wild card for the Masters tournament in his hometown of Rome.

In July 2018 he reached a new career high in the world rankings with rank 54 after celebrating his first ATP title in Gstaad in both singles and doubles.

He made his breakthrough into the top ten by reaching the semi-finals of the 2019 US Open.
