Formula 1: Nicolas Latifi could lose his Williams cockpit.
Oscar Piastri is a possible successor as Alexander Albon's teammate.
Munich – vortex in Formula 1: will Nicolas Latifi lose his cockpit in the current season?
According to Sky
information, the Williams pilot faces
an uncertain future and is apparently being questioned internally, although according to media reports his father invests 17 million euros in the team every year.
Latifi was the focus of attention this season due to many accidents, in the internal duel with Thai Alexander Albon he was clearly at a disadvantage.
"Albon
does a great job and the difference (to Latifi) is very, very big," says Sky expert Ralf Schumacher.
Formula 1: fuss about Latifi - driver change during the season?
Latifi had a particularly hard time in Saudi Arabia, crashing both in qualifying and in the race.
He was mocked for it on the internet.
“I just don't have confidence in the car.
I haven't had a good feeling since Saudi Arabia," explains the 2019 Formula 2 vice world champion. He knows: "If you don't trust your car, it can be dangerous."
A candidate to succeed Latifi could be Oscar Piastri.
The 21-year-old Australian is a reserve driver at Alpine.
Piastri is considered a child prodigy, having won the drivers' championship in both Formula 3 and Formula 2 in his debut season.
He is still waiting for his chance with the Alpine F1 Team.
Esteban Ocon still has a contract until 2024. Fernando Alonso not only seems to have found happiness in love, but also wants to continue driving in Formula 1.
Formula 1: Will Williams prodigy borrow Oscar Piastri from Alpine?
Schumacher sees Piastri as "the perfect choice" for Williams.
"If he doesn't deserve it, then who does?" asks the former Formula 1 driver.
However, Latifi's reserve driver Nyck de Vries will also have hopes.
The Dutchman was Formula E World Champion in 2021.
In the Constructors' Championship, Williams is in last place with just one point, Alpine has already gained 22 points.
