According to the publication, the Basques prefer Sapropoulos over a number of Spanish candidates and plan to officially contact him soon.
It is also written that he is highly regarded by the heads of Basconia, who is currently coached by Nevan Spahija, also an ex-Maccabi Tel Aviv, whose intention is to say goodbye to him at the end of the season, about six months after being appointed to the position.
Basconia is ranked at the end of 31 rounds in seventh place in Spain and the Euroleague finished the season earlier than expected as it finished ninth in the regular season.
