With his new contract, Thomas Müller is climbing into a new financial sphere - this is what the salary ranking at FC Bayern Munich looks like.
Munich - He stays!
Thomas Müller has extended his contract with FC Bayern Munich.
Ultimately, both the player and the club had to deviate a little from the original demands.
According to Sport Bild
, Müller is said to
have demanded a salary of over 20 million euros and a term until 2025.
The bosses, on the other hand, only wanted to extend until 2024 - so a compromise has now been found: Müller gets his salary of over 20 million, but the new Bayern contract only runs until 2024.
Salary table at FC Bayern: Lewandowski at the top, top performers only in the middle
Müller is said to have enforced his salary expectations and is now FCB's top earner after Robert Lewandowski.
The lucrative contract could mean that other players are now revising their claims upwards as well.
But who currently earns how much at Bayern?
Sport Bild
has presented a list of the
estimated salaries:
Over 20 million euros: Lewandowski, Müller |
€15-20m: Sané, Neuer, Kimmich, Goretzka, Hernandez, Coman |
€10-15m: Upamecano, Gnabry, Davies, Sabitzer |
€5-10m: Süle, Tolisso, Pavard, Choupo-Moting, Sarr, Roca, Musiala |
Under 5 million euros: Nianzou, Richards, Ulreich, Früchtl, Tilman, Stanisic, Wanner |
Salaries at Bayern Munich: Hernandez is one of the big earners
You can already guess it from the table: there is a certain imbalance between the top third of the salary pyramid and the rest of the management team.
Lucas Hernandez is one of the top earners at FC Bayern - unusual for a defensive player who has also repeatedly had to struggle with setbacks.
A Serge Gnabry, on the other hand, can only be found in midfield, although he has been one of the top performers in the club for years.
Since debuting in 2018, Gnabry has worn the Bayern shirt 169 times, scoring 63 goals and providing 40 assists (as of May 4, 2022).
Kingsley Coman has 49 goals and 56 assists - a similar number of scorer points.
But: He has been at the club since 2015 and has played 62 more games than Gnabry!
It is clear that the German international now wants to move into similar salary categories.
Like Hernandez, Coman is in the €15-20 million salary category.
Gnabry is one step below.
Serge Gnabry: Does a Bayern extension fail because of the salary?
Gnabry is also said to be disappointed that the contract extensions for Goretzka, Kimmich and Coman expired much faster.
According to Sport Bild
, the winger is therefore hesitant to
accept the offer of 17 to 19 million euros an annual salary, FC Bayern is said to have set a deadline.

FC Bayern: This is the status of Robert Lewandowski
Negotiations are not only stalling at Gnabry.
Robert Lewandowski has clear demands for FC Bayern.
The Pole is said to be pushing for a move to FC Barcelona.
The Blaugrana are said to want to pay the striker 30-35 million euros a year, writes
Sport Bild.
At FC Bayern, his salary is said to be 24 million a year
.
The catch: the Catalans reportedly only want to invest 25-30 million transfer fee.
As of now, FC Bayern seems to want to go into the last year of the contract with Lewandowski.
With the risk of another free transfer loss.
