Tennis: Boris Becker hopes to be able to comment on Roland-Garros from his prison cell

LE SCAN SPORT – The former German champion, imprisoned since the end of April, could remain a consultant on Eurosport thanks to a studio installed in the prison.

Sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term for concealing £2.5million to avoid having to pay his accumulated debts, Boris Becker is currently serving his sentence at Wandsworth, a prison establishment located in London, just over three kilometers from the Wimbledon stadium where he wrote his legend (three victories in 1985-1986-1989).

But the German may not be finished with his career as a tennis commentator, which he has had at Eurosport since 2017. "Boom-Boom" could well be on the air very soon, on the occasion of the next Grand Slam tournament in Paris in less than three weeks.

Not there, of course, but from his cell if he gets a favor.

According to the Swiss daily Blick, the former world number 1, now 54 years old, and the TV channel are currently negotiating with the leaders of the prison on the establishment of a device.

"

Eurosport is looking with Becker's lawyers to see if it is possible to set up a home studio for Boris in prison

", thus revealed Frank Wöndl, a former ski champion who is now a commentator on the specialized channel and who knows his compatriot well.

The chances of seeing this request succeed, however, seem slim.
